MSI's FREE monthly program takes place at the downtown Redwood City Library at 11am, AND at the Redwood Shores Library,
399 Marine Parkway, Redwood City. As always, no registration required, just show up!

Shark Day!     

Saturday, April 14      9am ~ 12pm

 

MSI loves sharks! Our special Shark Day invites one and all to learn about these amazing creatures, from the Great Whites that swim just off our ocean shores, to the gentle Leopard Sharks that are common in our Bay. We will be feeding and touching our local Leopard Sharks in our teaching aquarium, and viewing information about the vital role of these top predators around our world's oceans. $10 for members, $20 for non-members - advanced registration required.

Earth Day on the Bay

Saturday, April 21     10am ~ 5pm

 

We are thrilled to invite you to our annual celebration of life on our wateryplanet! Mark your calendars for April 21 and tell your friends! Join us for music, dance, fish, mud and much, much more.

 

Cost: Full day of arts, crafts, music, fishy and muddy programs, and more.... is FREE.

 

Three, two-hour Discovery Voyages on San Francisco Bay aboard our 90-foot research vessel, the Robert G. Brownlee cost $40/adult, $20 child (ages 5-12). These trips often sell out in advance, so book today!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Canoe Paddle in Redwood Creek   FULL!  

Saturday, May 5    9am ~ 2pm

 

Join us for a leisurely family paddle in our fleet of canoes guided by our expert naturalist instructors. No experience necessary, and we provide all of the necessary equipment. We will explore the local flora and fauna of Bair Island, a rare example of an undevelopped wetland ecosystem. A recent paddle offered a bonanza of bird sightings - over 16 species in two hours!!

 

$10 for members, $20 for non-members - advanced registration required.

Big Blue Oceans Day!     

Saturday, June 9

 

MSI celebrates international Oceans' Day with an open house. Come and visit MSI before our summer Marine Camp kicks into gear. Tour our aquarium, take part in our hands-on programs, and head out on a Discovery Voyage cruise of San Francisco Bay.

MSI Event Cancellation and refund policy: For a full refund, we ask our guests to cancel their registrations with a minimum of one weeks notice. This allows for families on waiting lists to register and adequately plan their calendars. In the event you must cancel your participation within 1 week of the scheduled event, MSI will charge a $10.00 cancellation fee. Please note our events still take place during rain or shine including our Discovery Voyages unless deemed a safety issue by the ship's Captain. Should MSI cancel an event for any reason you will be notified via the contact information upon registration and be issued a full refund. Questions??
