How much does Membership cost?
Membership with the Marine Science Institute costs $100 for a whole family for an entire year.
Am I a member? Is my membership current?
From the membership page click on the left bar where it says 'Log In to My Account'. Enter your username and password, which are defaulted to be your account email with us. From the 'statement' tab, you can see the duration of you membership status.
Can I sign up for Summer Camp during Priority Registration if my membership is current?
Only if your membership extends through the period of camp you are signing up for. This makes it fair for all of our members. If your membership ends before June 2010, for example, you must renew your membership to gain the code for priority camp registration.
How do I get my Priority Registration Code?
If your membership extends through Summer Marine Camp 2010, you will receive your code via email the week prior to the Priority Registration period. If for any reason you did not receive your code, please call MSI and we will provide it to you directly.
How do I add all my family members to my account?
From the membership page, click on 'Membership Registration' in the left column. Enter as a returning memer, and then click, 'Add a New Participant'. Follow instructions for each family member.
How do I change my user name and password?
From the Membership page, click on 'Login to my account'. Enter your user name and password, and then click on username and password.
Who is eligible to be added to my account?
MSI membership is a family membership, and applies only to immediate members of your family. Grandparents & grandchildren may be included in your account.
What are the benefits of Membership?
Membership with the marine science institute is designed to give your family opportunities to join us in exciting ways to explore the many natural wonders of the Bay area - together. Your children love our programs - with membership you get to share in their experiences and better support their pursuits.
Your family receives with our annual membership: Quarterly issues of our newsletter Baylines; Invitations to dozens of Member Events throughout the year, including several member-only trips aboard our 90' R.V. Robert G. Brownlee! Members also receive 10% off MSI merchandise, including Birthday Parties.
How do I sign up for Member Events?
Events will be posted on the Membership section of the web site, and can always be found in our quarterly newsletter Baylines. Sign-up instructions will be on the web site, and may require registration on-line or through direction communication with our Membership Coordinator.
How do I change the primary account name?
From the Membership page, login to your account. Click 'edit information', and you can then 'edit account information'.
Will I be notified when my membership is about to expire?
Yes, you will automatically receive an email the month before your membership is set to expire.
Weren't there different membership levels before?
We've made it a single membership level now to make membership with MSI simpler for you and ourselves. Though we encourage individuals who wish to make a further donation to MSI by visiting our donation section of the web site!
Is my membership tax deductible?
Yes! Membership with MSI is fully tax deductible. For tax purposes our tax id is: 94-1719649.
