Beach Exploration
At the beach, there are many activities that we can do with your group. Students can compare sand found locally with sand from beaches around the world, explore the beach wrack-line, use magnets to extract iron ore from beach sand or also do a beach pollution survey where they collect trash that has come ashore or filtered down the creek.

Marsh Walk
This is our opportunity to teach the value of the marsh ecosystem. With the aid of binoculars, students will have the opportunity to identify several types of shore and wading birds, learn about the indigenous & invasive flora, and have discussions about habitat, function and interdependence while traversing the marsh and mudflat in the wetlands of Pescadero Creek, a gem of California's coastline. |
