The Marine Science Institute and KQED lead an educator workshop focused on the form and function of sharks and their importance as the top predators in the ocean. View clips from the Sharks at Risk episode of Jean-Michel Cousteau: Ocean Adventures, touch live leopard sharks, experience what the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary's Sharkmobile has to offer, and learn new ways to teach students about these well-designed predators. This workshop is targeted for educators of grades 5-8, but all educators are welcome!

If you are unable to attend the September 9th workshop, there is an additional workshop taking place on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 from 4:30pm - 7:30 pm at the Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco. This workshop will focus on shark biology, the diversity of sharks, and their importance in the ocean food chain. This workshop is targeted towards teachers of grades 2-5, but all are welcome.
