Become a Volunteer Docent at our Aquarium!
A new program for MSI, our monthly Aquarium
Spotlight Days offer opportunities for the public to come down and enjoy
interacting with the amazing array of marine life in our classrooms &
aquarium! Volunteers will be trained in safe handling of some of our animals,
proper touching etiquette, and interesting facts about their diet and life
history. Volunteers trained as Docents are also eligible for ongoing assistance
in the Aquarium feeding and caring for the animals. Send Aaron a note if you are interested.
Fish Data Collection Internship: Research
Collect fish aboard our 90-foot research vessel,
the Brownlee. Identify, count and measure San Francisco Bay
fish in a fun, educational environment. Data collected becomes part of an
important 40-year-old database tracking fluctuations in fish populations
in South San Francisco Bay. This is a great opportunity for those who are
interested in gaining valuable scientific data-collection experience. Must
be 16 years of age or older.

Marine Camp Volunteer
MSI Summer Marine Camp is a day camp offered
every week for nine weeks during the summer. Volunteersare critical to help camp run smoothly. They assist instructors and counselors, and provides a great experience in learning about Marine Science while helping to teach it. This position requires a commitment of 8-9 hours a day for
a week during the summer.
The application form with the dates summer camp is offered this year can be downloaded by clicking HERE. Forms can be mailed in to Aaron Tinker, or emailed back with the completed information & weeks you are willing to commit to volunteering.

There is often room for assistance in our
busy, behind-the-scenes work to make MSI run smoothly. Whether it's a mailing,
research, assembling teaching materials or planning a special event, your
time & efforts help us help the Bay!
